4 simple steps to keep your berries fresh for longer!

Do you also love snacking on berries throughout the day and end up ordering a little much every time? We do too! Instead of ordering lesser quantities we’ve got a few ways to help you make your berry stash last as long as possible.

It's really simple, just give your berries a quick bath in a vinegar and water solution the moment you get them home, dry them, and place them in a clean container lined with paper towels. The vinegar helps to avoid the formation of any mold that could spoil them. This simple practice can make them last as long as 7 days if stored correctly.

To make your berries stay fresh longer you can follow the 4 steps mentioned below:

Fill a large bowl with 3 cups water and mix in 2 Tbsp vinegar. You can use white wine distilled vinegar as it’s easily available and does not have a strong of a flavour or apple cider vinegar. Both of them will work well since the berries will be rinsed under water. Place the berries into the water and let them soak 5-10 minutes. Gently stir the berries around every couple of minutes.

Drain them in a colander and rinse well under running water.

Place berries in salad spinner lined with a few layers of paper towels. Spin until the berries are completely dry. If you do not have a salad spinner you can place a clean dish towel on the counter and pour the berries out on to it. Blot them gently to dry up excess water.

Store berries in paper towel-lined sealable container, with layers of paper towels
between each layer of berries. Keep the lid slightly open to allow excess moisture to escape. Place in the refrigerator to store.
